Henry Vogel

President and CEO

Henry Vogel has responsibility for the Company’s overall strategy in addition to directing day-to-day operations and leading efforts towards new opportunities in the burgeoning mobile advertising market.

Henry brings to Apptera a wealth of experience and a track record of success at fast growth, consumer Internet companies.   With nearly 20 years experience in digital media and related consumer marketing industries, Henry served most recently as the Chief Revenue Officer of Quigo Technologies.  Under Vogel’s leadership as CRO, Quigo’s AdSonar contextual ad network grew from a few billion to over 25 billion monthly ad impressions before being bought by AOL in December of 2007.    

Prior to Quigo, Henry held numerous executive positions at eBay including Vice President of Internet Marketing and Business Development, Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis and head of Corporate Strategy.  In the late nineties through 2000, Henry founded and led Consumer Predictive Systems (eClips);  eClips provided segment-of-one marketing services to off-line CPGs and retailers by designing and delivering promotions targeted to individual consumers based on their behavior (frequent shopper card data), household demographics and revealed preferences.   Henry started his career and spent nearly fourteen years as a Partner and Senior Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group focused on the Consumer Goods and Retail sector where he gained experience in consumer marketing, branding, retail, sales, operations and corporate development.     

Mr. Vogel received a graduate degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Northwestern University. 


Randy Haldeman

Chief Marketing Officer

Randy Haldeman joined Apptera in 2005 to devise new growth opportunities for its deep technological capabilities. His outside-the-box thinking has led to major opportunities with the Company's world-class MobileAd Technology. He brings more than 25 years of expertise in building thriving businesses in the enterprise software, Internet and media space. During his career, Randy has helped start and manage three successful Internet companies and was awarded a patent on "The Optimized Way to Distribute Rich-Media Content over the Internet."

Most recently, Randy served as the senior vice president of marketing for the technology arm of Michael Milken's Knowledge Universe. Previously, he was the general manager and vice president of marketing at Ten-TV and a director of business development at VDOnet. Prior to that, Randy held various marketing and sales roles for Apple Computer, Zycad Corporation and Daisy Systems. Early on, Randy worked at Harris Corporation as a design engineer building a portion of a satellite system for NASA.

Randy has successfully launched a dozen enterprise software products and Internet businesses that have generated hundreds of millions in new revenues for his companies. Mr. Haldeman earned a B.S.E.E. from Duke University with a double major in biomedical and electrical engineering, along with an MBA.


Joe Hurd

Vice President of Business Development

Joe Hurd joined Apptera in January 2009 to grow the Company's distribution network and execute all strategic partner relationships. His team evaluates all new opportunities in the exploding mobile advertising market.

Joe is a Silicon Valley veteran, having been part of the senior management teams at two early-stage, fast growth companies. Prior to Apptera, he was the Vice President, International and Vice President, Business Development at VideoEgg, Inc., an innovative brand-focused rich media advertising network. At VideoEgg, Joe built a distribution network of over 300 websites and applications, and helped grow the company's revenue from zero to over $10 million annual revenue. Prior to VideoEgg, he ran business development and international at Friendster, Inc., the pioneering social network. Joe started his career in digital media and advertising at America Online, where he built and ran business development teams in Japan and Australia.

In addition to his work at Apptera, Joe provides consulting and advisory services and sits on the advisory boards of a number of consumer internet start-up companies. He has been featured or quoted in numerous newspapers and magazines, discussing social networking, international expansion, and Web 2.0.

Joe has an undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies and Government from Harvard College, a graduate degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. 


Don Steul

Vice President of Products and Services

Don Steul joined Apptera in September 2002 to lead the Company's product strategy and product management. Since then, Don's role has grown to include directing the Company's MobileAd Technology product line, roadmap, professional services, hosted services, and technical support groups. Don serves as a key member of Apptera's executive team, communicating existing and future customer requirements and leading the Company's overall technology development.

Prior to Apptera, Don was a vice president for Genesys Telecommunications, a subsidiary of Alcatel, leading product management and marketing activities for the Internet contact and business analytics solutions. He managed a cross-functional team responsible for defining a major release of the overall Genesys product line. Don began his career with Accenture at Northwestern University's Institute for Learning Sciences, and later worked for The Center for Strategic Technology in Palo Alto. He also worked for Netscape's worldwide professional services organization on some of the industry's first e-commerce solutions.

Don holds an M.S. in Materials Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.


Chris Monteferrante

Vice President Ad Sales

Chris Monteferrante leads our sales team as they reach out to potential advertisers for our voice and visual advertising network.

Chris comes to Apptera with more than 18 years of experience building and growing world-class advertising sales teams. Most recently, Chris was Senior Director of Advanced Media Sales for ESPN where he designed and implemented programs to enhance traditional ad inventory and packages through interactive television, video on-demand, online and mobile. While at ESPN, Chris was a top performer, consistently exceeding ad sales targets and delivering innovative new media products.

Prior to ESPN, Chris held positions as Vice President of Advertising Sales at Sony Pictures Television where he oversaw DirecTV's multi-million dollar ad sales and operations business, as well as the East Coast Sales Manager for International Family Entertainment, owner of the Family Channel cable channel.

Mr. Monteferrante received a degree in Business Administration, Finance from San Diego State University.


Chris Lalonde

Vice President of Engineering

With over 15 years of experience in information technology Mr. Lalonde has provided solutions for Fortune 500 companies, startups and government agencies. Prior to Apptera Mr. Lalonde was the VP of Operations for Meraki where he was responsible for all technology operations. In this role Mr. Lalonde lead the design and configuration of new operating environments which not only provided the company with expanded facilities but significantly contributed to the "free the net" campaign driving customer adoption and proving the scalability of the Meraki solution. Prior to Meraki Mr. Lalonde was the CIO for Quigo Inc. where he was responsible for the design, management and availability of all Quigo Systems including scaling Quigo systems to manage Gig+ traffic volumes with 99.999% availability. Prior to Quigo Mr. Lalonde was a Senior Director at eBay Inc. where he was responsible for the security of all eBay and affiliate systems.

Mr. Lalonde holds a bachelor of mechanical engineering with a concentration in robotics from Carleton University. Mr. Lalonde has several patents issued and pending; additionally, he has received the director's award from the United States Secret Service.
