Don Albert – Director
Don is a mobile and consumer marketing veteran and until recently served as the Vice President and General Manager of the Americas and Advertising for Skype. Prior to joining Skype in 2006, he held numerous executive positions at eBay, FusionOne, PointCast, and AOL’s Digital City. In 2004, Don was recognized as Marketer of the Year by Promo magazine for his innovative marketing partnerships at eBay and was also a charter member of the Internet Advertising Bureau and a founder and Vice Chairman of the Mobile Marketing Association.
Carl Showalter – Director
Carl is a founding partner of Opus Capital focusing primarily on networking software, systems and semiconductor investments. Previously, Carl was a General Partner with Lightspeed Venture Partners. Prior to joining Lightspeed, he was the vice president of marketing for Juniper Networks where he led the company’s global marketing and product management teams. Carl joined Juniper from UUNET, where he served as vice president and general manager of UUNET’s $2B revenue dial and DSL wholesale business. Before that, he was director of product management at America Online’s Networking Division, ANS. Carl started his career with Bellcore, focusing on packet data services and network security.
Mary Coleman – Director
Mary joined Walden International (WI) in 2002 as a managing director focusing on software and IT services. Prior to joining WI, she was CEO of Rightworks, an e-procurement and trading exchange software firm, which was acquired by I2 Technologies. She joined Rightworks from Internet Capital Group, where she had previously been a managing director focusing on investments in enterprise software and internet infrastructure including companies such as Rightworks. Before that, she was the CEO of the Baan Company, a leading European ERP software firm. Mary attained this position after selling Aurum Software CRM software firm where she served as the CEO to the Baan Company, after taking Aurum Software public on the NASDAQ.
Ammar Hanafi – Director
Ammar Hanafi joined Alloy Ventures as a general partner in 2005. At Alloy, he focuses on investments in cloud computing infrastructure and services. He previously served as vice president of new business ventures at Cisco Systems and vice president of corporate business development prior to that. He joined Cisco in 1997 as a member of the Corporate Business Development Group.
Matt McCall – Director
Matthew McCall is a co-founder and Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson Portage Venture Partners and Portage Venture Partners. McCall is responsible for managing the firm’s investments in EverDream, Feedburner, Imago Scientific, Lefthand Networks, Siimpel and TicketsNow. McCall has served on the advisory board to the Mayor’s Council of Technology Advisors in Chicago as well as on numerous other regional high technology advisory boards. McCall is a board member of the Illinois Venture Capital Association. He serves on the Kellogg Alumni Advisory Board, Northwestern McCormick MMM Advisory Board and ITEC-UIC (Illinois Technology Enterprise Corporation), a University of Illinois sponsored state funded incubator.
Lance Rosenzweig – Director
Lance Rosenzweig is an entrepreneur and business leader with a passion for developing innovative ideas and technologies into successful, pioneering companies. Lance successfully led PeopleSupport, one of the fastest growing and profitable BPO companies in the world, through a complete business cycle – including founding, angel and VC investment, turnaround, IPO, secondary offering, and the sale of the company in August, 2008. Prior to PeopleSupport, Lance was a co-founder of two other start-up businesses. In the wireless industry, Lance was afounder of UniSite, which was acquired by American Tower for over $200 million. In the plastics industry, Lance was afounder, Chairman, and President of Newcastle Group.
Henry M. Vogel – President & CEO
Henry Vogel has responsibility for the Company’s overall strategy in addition to directing day-to-day operations and leading efforts towards new opportunities in the burgeoning mobile advertising market.
Henry brings to Apptera a wealth of experience and a track record of success at fast growth, consumer Internet companies. With nearly 20 years experience in digital media and related consumer marketing industries, Henry served most recently as the Chief Revenue Officer of Quigo Technologies. Under Vogel’s leadership as CRO, Quigo’s AdSonar contextual ad network grew from a few billion to over 25 billion monthly ad impressions before being bought by AOL in December of 2007.
Prior to Quigo, Henry held numerous executive positions at eBay including Vice President of Internet Marketing and Business Development, Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis and head of Corporate Strategy. In the late nineties through 2000, Henry founded and led Consumer Predictive Systems (eClips); eClips provided segment-of-one marketing services to off-line CPGs and retailers by designing and delivering promotions targeted to individual consumers based on their behavior (frequent shopper card data), household demographics and revealed preferences. Henry started his career and spent nearly fourteen years as a Partner and Senior Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group focused on the Consumer Goods and Retail sector where he gained experience in consumer marketing, branding, retail, sales, operations and corporate development.
Mr. Vogel received a graduate degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Northwestern University.
